“The end result of violence is never pleasant” – Freeze

Freeze at the 2014 Nickelodeon KCAs - March 2014 - BellaNaija 01
OAP Freeze is adding his two cents to the ongoing drama surrounding Congolese musician Koffi Olomide who was arrested and jailed for  one year for kicking his dancer in the stomach.
Talking about the situation, Freeze says this is an opportunity to speak out against violence.
Although I sympathize with Koffi Olomide and his family as he begins his 1 year jail term, (this has not been confirmed) for assaulting a dancer, I feel the need to draw attention to the consequences of violence towards women.
It’s a pity that Koffi Olomide has become a scapegoat for a crime many men are guilty of, however, such a high profile case would help enlighten the male public on the negative aftermath of such an action, and possibly serve as a deterrent for future offenders.
Perpetrators of violence against men too should seize this opportunity to realize that the end result of violence is never pleasant. ~FRZ”

Niger Delta Avengers Sworn To Bring Nigeria Economy Down to Zero

The Niger Delta Avengers has alleged that the ongoing dialogue between the Federal Government and some militants in Niger Delta is a ploy to launch a military offensive in the region.

The group said President Muhammadu Buhari should intensify efforts in the exploration of oil in the North East, adding that it will not allow the government export a drop of crude oil from the Niger Delta.
The Avengers stated this in a statement entitled, “Your drones won’t stop us” and issued on Tuesday, July 26, by its spokesman, General Mudoch.
“Also note that you will not be able to export one litre of crude in the Niger Delta, just intensify the oil exploration in the North East. As for the ones in the Niger Delta, forget about it because the Nigeria government won’t export a drop from our land,” the statement said.
“The NDA intelligence agency gathered that the said peace talk or dialogue by the federal government is a delay tactic employed by the federal government to enable their purchased drones that are said to arrive latest end of August from the United State.
“This whole thing makes us to wonder what kind of country is this. We can all see that President Buhari- led government is a fraud. They are not serious about any dialogue and made it seem the Niger Delta Avengers are the ones not ready for dialogue.
“Mr. President you can purchase all the drones in Europe and Untied State. It will not stop the Niger Delta Avengers from bringing the country’s economy to zero. The worse you can do is to kill poor innocent people which the military is good at, but know the Nigeria Economy will suffer,” the group added.

Buhari had last week announced that the Federal Government is negotiating with militants in the region, but the Avengers has since distanced itself from the peace talks.

The End of a Tech Era: Verizon Acquires Yahoo Core Business for $5 Billion

Verizon and Yahoo
Yahoo was once regarded as the “King of the Internet”, worth $125 billion in its time the way Facebook or Google are today. Now it’s being sold to Verizon for comparatively chump change.
This morning, Verizon announced the end of the long process of acquiring Yahoo’s core business for just under $4.8 billion. This transaction ends the independence of one of Silicon Valley’s most iconic pioneering companies. Yahoo’s seventh and final CEO, Marissa Mayer, will reportedly depart with severance pay worth more than $50 million.
The sale will unite Yahoo with AOL, the first web portal Verizon bought last year for $4.4 billion. The United States’ largest wireless provider is betting nearly $10 billion that combining the two formerly dominant websites will give it an edge in mobile content and advertising technology it can leverage across its more than 140 million subscribers.
CEO of AOL Tim Armstrong said,
“We have enormous respect for what Yahoo has accomplished: this transaction is about unleashing Yahoo’s full potential, building upon our collective synergies, and strengthening and accelerating that growth. Combining Verizon, AOL and Yahoo will create a new powerful competitive rival in mobile media, and an open, scaled alternative offering for advertisers and publishers.”
Yahoo began in 1994 as “Jerry’s Guide to the World Wide Web” a list of websites curated by Stanford University students Jerry Yang and David Filo. It grew quickly as millions of Americans began turning on dial-up Internet connections and needed a home page that would direct them to all their essential destinations. In 1996 it went public and rode the dot-com bubble to epic heights, reaching a peak of $500 a share (or $125 a share in today’s post-split calculations) in January 2000

P-Square Sets To Get Back Again-Peter Okoye

Peter Okoye
Good news for P-Square fans, the Okoye brothers are all back together to continue making good music.
Peter Okoye made the announcement a few minutes ago on Instagram saying that he takes full responsibility for all that has happened. He also apologized to P-Square fans and he said that with a new management under Jude Okoye, they are back with new ideas and new music.
He said:
My dear fans, P-Square is back. Ours is a journey that started from our mother’s womb. It was a journey that started from Primary School, continued to St. Murumba College, to when we were in University in Abuja. It was a journey in which we shared childhood memories and grown-up dreams. We are back because brothers do not let each other wander in the dark alone. We are back because we have tried the lonely road and it was not the same.
I want to take responsibility for what has happened and sincerely apologise to you our fans. For supporting us throughout this journey we owed you so much more than what you have had to endure and I apologise for that. We are embarking now on a new journey with exciting new management (Jude Okoye), new music and new ideas.
We cannot thank you enough for all your prayers and support throughout this difficult period. Maya Angelou once said that brotherhood is a condition that people have to work at. We will continue to work on that and you can be prepared to be blown away by this new phase of P-Square.
God bless you all and be assured that you have not seen anything yet!

But these photos of Rohit are just something we’re sure ladies will keep drooling for the whole of today.
