President Buhari says Nigeria is paying for messed up economy

President Muhammadu Buhari has described the current economic problem in Nigeria as the result of a mismanaged economy in past years.

The President stressed that the country and her past administrators refused saving for the current situation, thus, mismanaging high revenue that accrued from oil in the past decade.

Buhari made this known to the public during his speech when the Chief Global CEO of Unilever, Mr Paul Polman, paid him a courtesy visit at the State House in Abuja on Monday, June 27, 2016.

In his words,”We refused to save for the rainy day. Now the rain is beating us. No money, no savings, nothing. And we are thoroughly wet from the rains.”
We want to create jobs, and supporting manufacturing is one way to do it. As soon as we have stabilized our budget, I would personally be interested in the manufacturing sector, particularly in the generation of essential raw materials,” the President said.
However, the President assured that the Federal Government would fast-track the implementation of strategies to ease doing business and attract more investors into Nigeria.
